What is a crown?
A cap that covers and protects a damaged tooth β completely.
A dental crown (also called a cap) is a custom-made restoration that fits over the entire visible portion of a damaged or weakened tooth, from the gum line up. Unlike a filling, which only fills a cavity, a crown encases the whole tooth β restoring its original shape, strength, and appearance while protecting the remaining structure from further damage.
Most dental insurance plans cover 50β80% of crown costs
