know exactly where your dental health stands
New to Dublin Metro Dental? Here's what to expect.
Your new patient exam is designed to give Dr. Sadineni a complete picture of your dental and oral health before any treatment is discussed. Most insurance plans cover this exam in full. You’ll never feel rushed, and nothing is recommended without a clear explanation of why.
Everything covered in your first exam
Full tooth examination
Every tooth assessed for decay, cracks, wear, and existing restorations using visual exam and the DIAGNOdent laser cavity detector.
Digital X-rays
Low-radiation digital X-rays β and 3D cone-beam imaging where indicated β reveal what's hidden between teeth, in bone, and at root level.
Periodontal screening
Gum pocket depths, bleeding points, bone levels, and signs of gum disease are recorded and charted at your first visit.
Oral cancer screening
Visual and manual examination of the lips, cheeks, tongue, palate, floor of the mouth, and throat for any suspicious tissue changes.
Bite & jaw assessment
Occlusion, tooth wear patterns, and signs of grinding or clenching (bruxism) are evaluated β often the source of headaches or jaw soreness patients don't connect to their teeth.
Personal treatment plan
Every finding is explained clearly. A written treatment plan is presented with priorities, timelines, and costs β yours to take home and consider

Common questions
How long is the new patient exam?
Plan for approximately 60 minutes for a comprehensive first visit including X-rays, clinical exam, and treatment plan review. If you’re also having a cleaning on the same visit, allow 90 minutes.
Does insurance cover the new patient exam?
Most dental insurance plans cover the comprehensive new patient exam in full as a preventive benefit, including X-rays. Our team will verify your specific coverage before your visit and confirm your out-of-pocket cost upfront.
Will treatment start at my first visit?
Only if you want it to and only for urgent issues. The exam appointment is for assessment and planning. Any treatment beyond an emergency fix is scheduled at a subsequent visit after you’ve had time to review your plan.
I haven't been to a dentist in years β is that a problem?
Not at all. Many of our new patients come to us after a gap of several years. Dr. Sadineni approaches these visits without judgment β the goal is simply to understand where you are now and build a realistic plan from there.
Can I bring dental records or X-rays from my previous dentist?
Yes β and we encourage it. Recent X-rays (taken within 12β18 months) may reduce the number of new images needed. We can also request records directly from your previous provider with your written authorisation.
