What Is Preventive Dentistry?

At Dublin Metro Dental, we believe the best dentistry is preventive dentistry.

Regular dental visits and early care help protect your teeth and gums before small issues become larger, more expensive problems.

Our preventive dentistry services are designed to help patients of all ages maintain healthy smiles through routine exams, professional cleanings, digital diagnostics, and personalized oral health care.

Dr. Aparna Sadineni Vision behind Preventive Care-

87th AACD Accredited Fellow In the World.

“The patients I see who need the least treatment are the ones who’ve been coming every six months for years. Prevention isn’t a compromise — it is the highest level of dental care. Every screening, every clean, every fluoride treatment adds up to a lifetime of avoiding pain, complexity, and cost.”

Common questions

Does insurance cover preventive dental care?

Most dental insurance plans cover preventive care at 100% with no deductible — including two cleanings, two exams, bitewing X-rays, oral cancer screening, and fluoride treatment for children. Sealants are also covered at 100% for children under 14 on most plans. Our team verifies your specific benefits before every appointment.

It is never too late. Many of our patients come to us after a gap of several years, sometimes much longer. Dr. Sadineni approaches every first visit without judgement — the goal is simply to understand where you are now and build a realistic, prioritised plan from there. The first step is always an honest evaluation, not a list of things you should have done.

Yes — and this is one of the most important things to understand about dental disease. Decay, gum disease, and even oral cancer are frequently painless in their earliest stages. By the time something hurts, it has usually been developing for months or years. The absence of symptoms is not the absence of disease. Regular check-ups catch problems when they’re small — before symptoms appear and before treatment becomes complex.

Yes — we welcome children from their very first tooth or first birthday, whichever comes first. Our team is trained in gentle, age-appropriate care. We use child-friendly language, let children explore at their own pace, and never rush or force a procedure. Many of our patients bring their entire family — parents and children — for care at the same practice.
